NOT WORTH LESS.
I’m passionate about empowering women.
It’s true that women can rally quickly for causes other than for themselves (like for their children), but they generally tend to be more passive about fighting for their own rights. Typically, women jump into action only when a major event has become public (e.g. when a whistle blower comes forward and who then miraculously awakens the warrior in us to support that “victim”). So, let’s face it: Why do we sit back and wait on any other given day? Women should not need a public outcry to jump into action. Women “should” stand up for equal rights because we are owed equal rights. It’s as simple as that.
Sadly, women remain quiet, compliant, and are thankful when they are offered less for equal work. Afraid of the unknown, the consequence, the retaliation.
To make matters worse, it is also true that women often do not support, empower, or promote each other. Have you ever wondered why?
- Is it because there are very limited spots available to women in advancing their careers?
- Is it because women do not want others to succeed?
- Are women jealous when other women have more than what they think they deserve?
These are just a few ponderables. Fact is, there are more questions that need to be asked. Fact is, sometimes women don’t want to hear the answers.
However, we cannot rely on men to make change happen. We have waited too long, accepted way too much in return for the little we have gained with our compliance and silence.
Women must be open to the possibility that we prefer to remain in the comfort of our insecurities because change requires action and commitment.
The time for honesty is NOW! I’m calling on all women (and men) to learn, observe, value, and empower so that women don’t have to “wait” for change when it can be up to them to make it happen.
Are you ready to be(come) an ADVOCATE for women?
If you are on the same mission, or would like to be on the path that gets us closer to equality, please contact me via the Contact page. I’m looking to connect with anyone who stands up for equal rights.
